Alteva, formerly known as Warwick Valley Telephone, began as a local telephone switchboard operator company and has developed into a leader in cloud-based communications. VoIP, Unified Communications, and Microsoft Communication Services are all telecommunication technologies offered by Alteva. Local service caters to communication needs in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Guam. The 800 service provides businesses with toll-free, call-in numbers to make it easier for clients to contact them.
Alteva uses Hosted IP voice phone models Mitel 5312, Mitel 5340, and Mitel 5324.
Customer support, billing information and subscribing to or changing service can be addressed in person at one of their offices, or by calling one of their four phone numbers, depending on the location of the client.
To order new service or change service plans, there is a toll-free number to call or a form to fill out on their website that advertises the company’s commitment to respond within 24 hours during the work week.

Alteva offers cloud-based VoIP phone service. Data and voice are combined in a high-speed broadband Internet connection to provide a cost effective solution to PBX phone systems. Alteva works with the individual business client to create a tailored package for the particular enterprise’s needs.
Quality and reliability
Alteva’s phone service has a 99.99% network reliability score. Their phones will operate if the power goes out. The service is 911 capable and works without an Internet connection should Internet service drop.
The Microsoft cloud platform is offered by Alteva for hosted business email and online communications. Microsoft Exchange works on any device for email, calendar, attachments, and contact access, among other features. Microsoft OCS acts as real-time Instant Messenger for employees to communicate. Microsoft SharePoint allows secure access to emails and documents in a single location.
Alteva voice is sold at a base rate using local service costs as the foundation for charges. Other options such as long distance, toll-free numbers, and international rates are charged by the minute.
Local service is $31.95 a month per line with a guaranteed no rate increase for two years. Toll-free service charges are seven cents per minute for Alteva customers and 10 cents per minute for non-Alteva customers for intrastate calls.
International calls have different rate-per-minute prices based on the country called. Price tables are available on the alteva website.
